MDDUS Solutions: A new choice for doctors

Healthcare provider organisations and groups of doctors now have a choice of indemnity products designed for their circumstances, via our new company – MDDUS Solutions.

  • Date: 19 April 2021

HEALTHCARE is constantly evolving to meet patients’ changing needs and to keep pace with the latest treatments.

For almost 120 years, MDDUS has protected healthcare professionals and we’ve never stopped creating innovative solutions to help our members adapt to new ways of working.

We recognise that increasing numbers of doctors working in secondary care are joining forces to provide high-quality specialist treatments via limited liability partnerships (LLPs), private limited companies (PLCs) or other corporate entities.

That’s why MDDUS has launched a new company – MDDUS Solutions – offering a range of new indemnity products, including a choice of discretionary and insured protection.

Greater choice of cover

MDDUS Solutions – which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) – offers greater choice than ever before, with traditional discretionary indemnity being offered alongside insurance cover underwritten by MDDUS Insurance Limited, MDDUS Group’s regulated insurance subsidiary.

Flexibility is key at MDDUS Solutions, where the team recognises that the complexity of liabilities, patient pathways, employment and ownership structures demand bespoke solutions designed to meet the precise needs of your corporate group.

From groups of anaesthetists and surgeons to occupational medicine specialists in LLPs or PLCs, working with technology platforms and more, MDDUS Solutions can create the perfect personalised package to solve personal and individual as well as corporate liability issues.

Bespoke packages from Solutions provide access to the expertise and benefits of MDDUS membership, including:

  • 24/7 medico-legal advice
  • Support and representation from a team of experienced medico-legal advisers and solicitors
  • A range of online and face-to-face training & CPD resources, including live events, webinars, courses, video presentations and more.

Continuation of expertise

MDDUS Solutions brings together all the very best that MDDUS has to offer and is the embodiment of more than a century of innovation.

So whether you choose regulated insurance or discretionary indemnity products, rest assured that it is backed by an enviable record of medico-legal expertise, high-quality service and an unswerving commitment to serving healthcare professionals and organisations.

MDDUS Solutions retains the same mutual, not-for-profit ethos that always puts the members’ interests first and has made MDDUS one of the most trusted names in UK healthcare.

Dr Chris Godeseth, Customer and Development Director at MDDUS, said: “MDDUS Solutions may be a new company but it has behind it the considerable expertise and experience of MDDUS. We are long-established specialists in healthcare liability protection and support.

“Launching Solutions and its new range of products is about offering people greater choice and more bespoke products, not asking them to choose between insurance or discretionary indemnity.

“MDDUS recognises that healthcare professionals do a really tough job in some trying circumstances. We want to be there to support both individuals and organisations while they deliver the best care they can for their patients.”
