MDT working for hospital doctors: Managing communication & boundaries risks

Taking place on Thursday, 26 January 2023 between 10.30am and 12.00pm, this two hour, interactive course is designed for hospital doctors

Multidisciplinary team working is an approach embraced in modern-day healthcare. It allows patients access to a range of specialists appropriate to their care and recovery.

While there are many benefits, working day-to-day as part of a multidisciplinary team also comes with risk which include ongoing communication about patient care and boundaries and accountability between professional disciplines.

This course will highlight the potential risk areas, and emphasise key issues identified from the Paterson Inquiry.  This will allow you to reflect on your own working practices, so that you are able to mitigate these risks in day-to-day care.

This session will include discussion of:

  • Relevant GMC guidance
  • Accountability
  • Boundaries
  • Communication
  • Meetings
  • Decision-making
  • Record keeping

This course will be led by Kay Louise Grant, MDDUS risk adviser.

Application has been made to the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK for CPD accreditation.

Course Fee:
