THE deadline for dentists to renew GDC registration has now passed and the regulator is advising those who have not registered to urgently complete the restoration process.
Dentists are not legally allowed to practice until they have been restored to the register.
To do so requires the following steps:
- Send the GDC a completed restoration form, which is available at www.gdc-uk.org/professionals/registration/restoration.
- Pay the restoration fee – for more details about the fee, visit www.gdc-uk.org/professionals/fees/restoration-fee.
- Send continued professional development evidence and a letter of good standing, if necessary.
Remember, dentists will be declaring CPD under the former scheme for the final time, as enhanced CPD was introduced in January 2018. For more information about ECPD, visit: https://www.gdc-uk.org/professionals/cpd/enhanced-cpd.
More general information on registration is available from the GDC registration team at registration@gdc-uk.org.
