Final waiting list trainees find jobs

  • Date: 19 August 2013

THE last group of trainee doctors still waiting to find jobs have been allocated posts.

A total of 33 doctors had been on a reserve list following the announcement in October that the foundation programme was oversubscribed.

A group of 295 trainees had initially been left without jobs due to the oversubscription, with that number gradually reduced in the last few months. Jobs had been allocated by the UK Foundation Programme Office in batches since June, vacancies arose.

Now all remaining applicants have secured posts in time for the training programme which started this month.

The final allocations were made on July 8, ahead of the originally scheduled July 24 date.
