Reminder for dentists about remote prescribing

  • Date: 13 August 2012

DENTISTS have been reminded by the GDC that remote prescribing must not be used in the provision of non-surgical cosmetic procedures such as the prescription or administration of Botox or injectable cosmetic.

The announcement follows a recent statement from the General Medical Council that doctors are also banned from prescribing Botox remotely.

Guidance for dentists on remote prescribing can be found on the GDC website.
