GDC plans dentistry risk research

  • Date: 11 August 2011

THE General Dental Council is to commission research into the risks involved in UK dental practice.

The research will be used to support the regulator in developing a model of revalidation for dentists that it says will be “workable, proportionate and cost-effective, by enhancing our understanding of risk in the practice of dentistry.”

The GDC said the work will also inform its wider policy development activity.

Interested parties should respond to the GDC’s research manager, Guy Rubin, by Friday, September 9. Shortlisted applicants will be informed by Thursday, September 15.
