THE MDDUS training & CPD team have worked with a lot of GP practices over the years, advising them on ways to minimise everyday risks.

One thing we’re always keen to emphasise is the importance of training admin and reception teams on topics like complaints handling, communication skills and confidentiality.

In this short video, I offer an insight into how targeted training of these team members can reduce all kinds of risks across the practice.

  • Communication risks for admin and reception teams – July 27, 2021, 10.30am-12.30pm. This two-hour course will help staff identify common and emerging areas of risk relating to communication, and help them overcome barriers with both patients and colleagues to ensure safer practice.
  • Complaints handling for admin and reception teams – August 31 and September 14, 2021 10.30am – 12.30pm. This two-part course will equip admin and reception staff with the skills and communication techniques to handle complaints effectively and achieve early resolution.
  • Confidentiality for admin and reception teams – August 17 and September 7, 2021 10.30am – 12.30pm. This two-part course highlights the common risks admin and reception teams face when disclosing patient information, and offers practical solutions to preventing patient confidentiality breaches.
