Join your fellow Cygnet consultants with group indemnity from MDDUS

As a Cygnet Consultant, you are entitled to join their group scheme, which offers a discount on all your work carried out. Note that access to indemnity, expert advice, assistance and representation will only be available when both the Consultant and the patient is located in the UK, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

Joining is simple.  Follow the 5 step process outlined below to apply for membership.

    Click "Get a quote" to begin the quotation process. This will open in a new window so you can refer back here to follow the steps. Remember to include all of your work both with and outside of Cygnet as the discount will be applied to all of your work.

    Here is some guidance on the questions that you'll be asked:
    “Which type of membership are you applying for?” - select “Qualified consultant/Specialist”
    “Are you applying to join an existing practice or corporate scheme?” - select “Yes”
    “What is the scheme number?” - input “3821”

    Regarding your role, here is some guidance on the questions you'll be asked:
    If you do not undertake any work with the NHS, when asked “Do you work in the NHS” - select “I hold a substantive NHS Consultant contract” even if you do not work in the NHS.
    When asked “If you work privately, what is your gross annual income for this work?” please do not include earnings for work undertaken within your Cygnet role. Only declare earnings for work undertaken outside of your Cygnet role.

    In the “Other work” section, please include all details of any private work you undertake outside of Cygnet. Anything that is not covered by this question set, please detail in the question that follows which asks for any additional work for which you require indemnity.

    You will be presented with a quote which will include your discount. Please ensure the cover details are correct and includes all of your work (with and without Cygnet in the UK). 
    If you're happy to proceed, click "Apply now" to complete your application for membership.

    Please note: Once you have submitted your application for MDDUS Membership,  as part of the review process we will send you a Declaration to complete. This Declaration will allow us to seek confirmation of your case history from your current and/or previous defence organisation(s) or insurer(s). We may also contact you for further information regarding your Indemnity history or any cases you may have disclosed on your application
