Johanna read Law at the University of Edinburgh and graduated in 2011 with a 1st class medical law dissertation. She then completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at BPP in London. Johanna then worked as a police station representative at Hollingsworth Edwards Solicitors followed by two years working as a medical/dental law paralegal at the Medical Defence Union. Johanna joined the MDDUS in December 2016 and has experience of clinical negligence claims, regulatory law and inquests.
