Managing risk for ANPs in primary care

This three-hour interactive Zoom course, which will take place on Tuesday 19 May from 9.30am until 12.30pm is designed to introduce ANPs in primary care to common and evolving medicolegal and professional risks.

Through a mix of short talks, discussion and consideration of cases, we will explore:

  • The importance of working within your scope of practice and competence.
  • Patterns of negligence claims in primary care and areas of particular risk to ANPs, such as managing tests and results, referral, escalation, delegation and prescribing.
  • Strategies to maintain professionalism in challenging practice environments.
  • New risks emerging in GP practice relating to remote and digital care delivery, managing boundaries, and multidisciplinary team working.

Delegates will leave the course more informed about where risk can arise and equipped with advice and tools to take back to their practice.

Upon completion, a certificate detailing three hours of verifiable CPD will be provided by MDDUS to all attendees.
