This interactive session explores various consultation models to improve patient interactions and will equip clinicians with the knowledge and skills to enhance their communication and consultation practices, ultimately improving patient care and adherence to professional standards.
Content will include:
- An introduction of key consultation models, highlighting their frameworks and applications
- Analysis of the strengths and limitations of each model in various clinical scenarios
- The importance of effective communication in building resilience and reducing stress in clinical practice, covering techniques including:
○ Emotion in Our Communication: Understanding how our emotions can influence our communication
○ Mindful Listening: Focusing fully on the patient to understand their concerns
○ The Power of Compassion: Demonstrating understanding and compassion towards patients' experiences
○ Assertiveness: Communicating needs and boundaries clearly and respectfully
○ Powerful Words and Phrases: Exploring how to use words for the most positive outcomes
○ Conflict Resolution: Managing disagreements constructively to maintain therapeutic relationships
- Tips and strategies to help participants develop personalised consultation models for their daily practice.

To take part in this workshop:
