Social Media in GP and dental practices

This two-part course is designed for anyone working in primary care who is thinking about or already has a social media presence in their practice. Part one takes place on Tuesday, 24 October between 9.30am and 12.30pm and part two will take place on Tuesday, 31 October between 9.30am and 12.30pm

24 October 2023 - The first part of our social media course will highlight the benefits organisations will see in their use of social media including interfacing with other communication channels and improving patient awareness and education.

Delegates will get the chance to explore ideas on how to maximise their practices potential when using social media with examples of effective ways to create content. This session will also address common risk areas to social media use such as regulatory, employment and reputational risks.

Scenarios illustrating common pitfalls will be shared allowing participants to consider how they might plan to avoid these within their own practice using tactics such as awareness raising, training, policy development and codes of practice.

31 October 2023 - The second and final part of our social media course will explore online patient feedback and the benefits this can have to practices when improving patient services and addressing concerns.

The issue of responding to online feedback will be addressed with suggestions on ways to respond and optimal ways to manage negative feedback. Participants will review risk reduction approaches which can be adopted in response to negative feedback, and will explore strategies to manage a range of challenging scenarios practices can face across personal, practice, patient, NHS and other channels.

This course is led by Kay Grant, risk adviser at MDDUS

Upon completion, a certificate detailing 6 hours of verifiable CPD will be provided by MDDUS to all attendees.
