GP nurse training day

Over an interactive day, GP practice nurses and ANPs can explore emerging professional risks relating to test results, prescribing, social media and more.

More than three quarters of negligence claims in primary care arise from failed or delayed diagnosis/access to treatment or failures arising from prescribing systems.

As nursing roles and responsibilities in practice broaden and deepen, this course will help delegates explore the common pitfalls to which they are likely to become more exposed, and which features of practice will assist in mitigating these.

In addition, the course will explore some of the emerging professional risks that nurses are likely to face as a result of developments in social media and technology.

Topics across this interactive day course, will include:

  • Managing testing and results
  • Management of patients who default from review
  • Prescribing risks
  • Working within multidisciplinary teams (signposting, accountability, supervision)
  • Safe delegation to non-clinical staff and HCSWs
  • Managing your online presence/maintaining boundaries.

The training day is open to both MDDUS members and non-members and is aimed at GP practice nurses and ANPs.
