GDC warning on “10-in-2” CPD rule

  • Date: 13 September 2019

THE GDC is urging dentists to check that their CPD hours comply with the so-called "10-in-2" rule.

UK dentists are required to complete a minimum of 10 hours of CPD in every rolling two-year period. The GDC is now asking all dentists (apart from those who joined the register in 2018 or 2019) to check the number of CPD hours logged to make sure they have (or will) meet the minimum requirements before 31 December 2019.

The easiest way to check the number of CPD hours logged last year – and the number completed so far this year – is to visit eGDC.

The GDC is urging dentists who may be short of hours to act now. It states: "Non-compliance with CPD rules may put your GDC registration at risk."
