Guidance on global classification system of periodontal and peri-implant diseases

AN implementation plan for a new global classification system of periodontal and peri-implant diseases and conditions has been devised by a working group of the British Society of Periodontology (BSP).

The BSP is leading on the UK guidance for practitioners and their advice will be communicated shortly, along with a series of webinars on the new classification systems hosted on the BSP website. The webinars are free to everyone and can be booked by clicking this link.

Workshop 1: Background from the Management Group and Classification of Health and Gingival Diseases. Professor Iain Chapple – (past) 25th September 2018.

Workshop 2: Categorisation of periodontitis according to four stages and three grades. Professor Ian Needleman - 13th November 2018.

Workshop 3: Periodontal manifestations of systemic diseases and developmental and acquired conditions. Professor Francis Hughes – 4th December 2018.

Workshop 4: Classification of peri-implant diseases and conditions. Professor Nikos Donos – 19th February 2019.

The BSP will also provide regular updates on social media.
