Statutory pay rates updated

THE latest increases in statutory pay rates have been published by the government.

From April 4, statutory maternity, paternity, shared parental and adoption pay; maternity allowance and bereavement leave will increase from £151.20 per week to £151.97.

Statutory parental bereavement pay also sees its first annual increase from April 4. This follows the introduction of the right to parental bereavement leave, available to the parents of a child who died on or after April 6, 2020.

From April 6, statutory sick pay increases from £95.85 a week to £96.35.

The amount of the weekly lower earnings limit, that applies to National Insurance contributions, below which employees are not entitled to SMP, SPP, SAP, SSPP and SSP (but remain entitled to maternity allowance), will remain at £120.00 per week.
