Compensation limits increase

From 6 April, the statutory limit for a week’s pay will be increased to £479 (currently £475) and the maximum compensatory award in unfair dismissal claims will raise to £78,962 (currently £78,335).

This applies to employees dismissed or subjected to a detriment on or after 6 April 2016. So, if an employee is made redundant before 6 April 2016, then their statutory redundancy payment will be capped at the current limit of £475.
