Coronavirus (COVID-19): How we're running hearings

Medical Practitioner Tribunal Service hearings about new matters have been postponed from July onwards, to ensure that the service is protecting patients and hearing cases efficiently during the pandemic

The service is working to relist postponed hearings, taking certain criteria into account, such as where an interim order of suspension or conditions on a doctor’s registration have been imposed, where hearings have been part-heard, and the length of time since referral / previously postponed hearings.

Since the hearing centre has been closed, the service has run 134 virtual hearings, and 68 on papers. It is working to increase the number it can hear.
