Legal support and representation
This includes payment of legal costs from our external partners who are leading UK employment law specialists with expertise in:
- Complex grievances
- Disciplinary issues where dismissal is a possible outcome
- Mediation
- Discrimination, harassment and bullying
- Absence and capability issues, for example, where the employee may be considered disabled under the Equality Act 2010
- Redundancy and restructuring
- Settlement agreements
- Employment tribunal complaints
Payment of employment tribunal awards
In cases where an employee is awarded financial compensation, following representation of a practice by our legal partners, the award will be met on the practice's behalf by MDDUS. This would provide members with a significant saving considering disability claimants have been awarded in excess of £200,000.
Note that all GP/GDPs employers within the group practice scheme must be a member of the MDDUS to qualify for this support.

How to register
The MDDUS group scheme administrator, usually the practice manager, should download and return the HR & employment advisory application form and await confirmation of registration.
