Dr Jonathan Berry, Chair of the Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland (MDDUS) commented:

“I am absolutely delighted that Jason’s significant contribution to the patient safety element in medical care has been recognised in this way.

“He is an internationally recognised expert in healthcare quality and since his appointment as National Clinical Director of Healthcare Quality and Strategy for Scottish Government in 2015 he has been instrumental in ensuring that NHS Scotland is at the leading edge of this important work.

“I am personally grateful to him for the regular and thoughtful contribution he has made to the discussions on the future of MDDUS in very challenging times as an MDDUS board member. This award is a fitting acknowledgement of Jason’s extensive contribution to health care quality in the UK.”
