Gordon completed his medical degree at the University of Glasgow after which he worked in various hospitals in the west of Scotland, specialising in general and respiratory medicine. He completed his MRCP before moving into medicolegal work in 2011 as an adviser with a competitor medical defence organisation. Gordon gained a masters in medical law (LLM) with distinction from Cardiff University. He has also gained membership of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine (FFLM) by examination, and was previously an examiner for the FFLM. Gordon regularly writes and educates on medicolegal matters and also engages in policy reform activities. Gordon has a keen interest in clinician wellbeing and support, which has become ever more important for those working in healthcare in recent times.
