GPs in Scotland undertaking extra work during Covid-19

A reminder for all GPs practising in Scotland regarding reimbursement for additional indemnity expenses incurred by the increase in sessions worked due to Covid-19

A reminder for all GPs practising in Scotland that the Scottish Government, in their 2020/21 statement of financial entitlements for GMS contractors, introduced a process for reimbursing GP practices for additional work caused by the coronavirus outbreak, including increased workload and covering colleagues’ absence. This includes reimbursement for any additional indemnity expenses incurred by the increase in sessions worked.

It is therefore important that you login to your account and update your subscription with details of any additional GP work performed. Your membership certificate will then be revised and will be available to download from your MDDUS online account. Alternatively, email membership@mddus.com for assistance.

Full details on the statement of financial entitlement can be found at www.sehd.scot.nhs.uk
