All dental practices in England should begin the process of registering with the Care Quality Commission.
More than 8,5000 providers of dental services will be required to register by April 2011. Providers applying as a partnership or ‘organisation’ will be required to have a registered manager. Individual providers will not need a registered manager unless they are not in day-to-day charge of the business.
The CQC has issued full guidance which is available on its website or in hard copy. For more information visit www.cqc.org.uk/dental or phone the national contact centre (NCC) on 03000 616161.
