New guidance developed to promote professional behaviour among dental students and to help educational providers deal with issues which may call into question a student's fitness to practise has been published by the GDC.
The guidance covers the types of professional behaviour and health standards expected of dental students, how fitness to practise can affect GDC registration, and when and how to make decisions about fitness to practise.
The document applies not only to students but all trainee dental care professionals (DCPs). Among other topics it details the key elements of fitness to practise arrangements with examples and 'categories of concern'.
