Additional MDDUS Membership Categories

MDDUS has developed a range of additional membership categories to meet the needs of our members. These include:

MDDUS Discount Practice Scheme

The MDDUS offers a discount on subscription fees to medical professionals who work in a practice where all the doctors are MDDUS members.

An additional benefit of the Discount Practice Scheme (DPS) is that all members of staff, including the practice manager, practice nurse and other ancillary staff who are not eligible for Full or Associate Membership, are covered by the scheme.

This gives added security to doctors who employ staff and for whom they have vicarious liability.

More information can be found within the DPS application forms

MDDUS Dental Practice Scheme

The Dental Practice Scheme is available to practices of any size (including single-handed practices) where all the dentists are MDDUS members.

The scheme provides indemnity cover for dental nurses and practice managers giving added security for dentists who employ staff and for whom they have vicarious liability.

An additional benefit is discounted fees on MDDUS training courses and risk management consultancy.

More information can be found within the DPS application forms.

MDDUS Retired and Deferred Membership

If you are not working due to retirement, maternity leave or ill health, you can put your membership on hold. This service is provided free of charge and continues to provide you with cover for any Good Samaritan acts.

You will also continue to receive your quarterly edition of 'Summons', the MDDUS magazine.

If you undertake locum work you can reactivate your membership in full or for periods of four weeks at a time.

MDDUS Overseas Associate

If you go abroad for a short period and plan to return to the UK, you can remain with the MDDUS, free of charge, as an Overseas Associate.

This places your membership on temporary hold and allows you to continue to receive a copy of our quarterly magazine, 'Summons'.
