MDDUS Dental Advisory Team

The MDDUS has dental members throughout the UK, including GDPs, hospital and community dentists, and dental hygienists and therapists.

The MDDUS Dental Advisory Team provides a 24-hour personal dentist-to-dentist service of support and dento-legal advice.

If you are an MDDUS member, don't hesitate to contact us as soon as you think you may have a problem. Click here to meet the MDDUS Dental Advisory team.

MDDUS members can contact the team for advice on a wide range of topics including:

  • Dealing with patient complaints
  • Dental record keeping
  • Issues of confidentiality
  • Consent to treatment
  • Expert guidance on the interpretation of relevant legislation
  • Dental ethics

Members can also seek assistance and representation in disciplinary matters and General Dental Council (GDC) proceedings.

In the case of a claim against a member for clinical negligence, MDDUS advisers provide expert guidance and, where necessary, engage legal representation.

Such claims can be extremely complex. As a member, you can rest assured that a fellow professional will guide you at each step.

To help MDDUS members avoid risks in dental practice, the team also:

  • Undertake practice visits
  • Assist with undergraduate training
  • Lecture and advise at postgraduate courses
  • Attend and advise at conferences
